I first did not like this short story, and gave it two stars, mainly because, as they are by definition, short stories are short and I wanted to keep on reading and was left h Simplicity is ever so complex. Please improve it by verifying the claims made and adding inline citations.

This article possibly groove original research. She later came back, wept, and then fled again. All of these, along with the woman’s horse, a tall, short-maned palominowere missing when the woodcutter discovered the body. Didn’t know this was the story that inspired Kurosawa.

I have to admit that I read this short story mainly because of Kurosawa’s Rashomon, which I consider one of the best movies by the best filmmakers in the history of the moving picture which, despite its age and style as we see it with our so-called modern eyes, transcends both time and place. Who killed the man is the main question to ask? I liked the author’s style of telling the events of the story and the complexity of the whole story will draw the readers in.
True, no blood flows, the man is still alive, but you’ve killed him all the same. The story proceeds by assembling diverse testimonies to the events that are given grkove answer to the questions of the high police commissioner. The man was carrying a sword, a bow and a black quiver.
Seven months akhtagawa Akutagawa’s birth, his mother went insane and he was adopted by her older brother, taking the Akutagawa family name.
Oh what a tangled web we weave. The high police commissioner’s involvement ends.

All these main characters changed their statements for an advantage. This morning, as usual, I went to cut my daily quota of cedars, auktagawa I found the body in a grove in a hollow in the mountains. We are then given the accounts of the thief Tajomaru, the woman, and the man who has been killed through a medium all of whom remember the events slightly differently, and all of whom are willing to take responsibility for the death themselves.
The second-to-last account is that of Masago. You say that this bow and these arrows look like the ones owned by the dead man?
The murderer can be him or her. Little did I expect that he would meet such a fate. He was walking toward Vy with a woman accompanying him on horseback, who I have since learned was his wife. Their shame accounts for the stories they tell themselves and others. Her daughter is a beautiful, strong-willed year-old named Masago, married to Kanazawa no Takehiro—a year-old samurai from Wakasa.

The plot revolves around some interesting themes that include the inability to know an absolute truth since everything seems to be contaminated by our impressions; self-interest, beauty and lust, dishonor and the atrocities a person is willing to do to remedy that ryunoeuke, the ephemeral essence of our existence and the heinous rationalization behind groofe act of taking somebody else’s life.
And I remember that he carried some twenty odd arrows in his quiver.
