Kit Baum needs to be congratulated on writing this superb book for the non-programmers. I have read many stata books, by Long, Mitch, etc. Thanks for telling us about the problem. On the other hand, I agree with other comments about the book’s lack of depth and inadequate explanations.

I’m somewhere in between the other reviewers of this book. Of note are factor variables and operators, the computation of marginal effects, marginal means, and predictive margins using margins, the use of gmm to implement generalized method of moments estimation, and the use of suest for seemingly unrelated estimation.
